Phenomenal Corporate Weekend in Barcelona

After a very busy season, when things were a bit quieter for us in Amsterdam, we wanted to seize this opportunity. We decided to treat our team to a corporate weekend in Spain. And so, we got in contact with a local events and activities organizer based in Barcelona. If you’ve ever been to Barcelona, you’ll know it’s a stunning city, with great weather and amazing architecture.

Barcelona has a real city vibe as well as a taste of beach life, which not many other destinations can offer. It’s this mixture of cool elements that gives Barcelona its reputation as one of Europe’s top holiday destinations.

The team we contacted in Barcelona was BCN Events & Crawls. They’re mostly known for their Barcelona hen do and Barcelona stag do but also cater for corporate groups. They suggested a bunch of exciting plans for us. The outcome? A bunch of cool experiences that added a new twist to our trip. Over the next few paragraphs, we are going to give you a quick review of some of our favorite experiences we had during our long weekend.

Catamaran Charter in Barcelona:

We opted for a 2-hour catamaran charter that turned out to be the standout highlight of the whole weekend. The private catamaran had more than enough space for our group. This thing had enough space to accommodate the whole Dutch rugby team.

The weather was fantastic. We were able to kick back and enjoy a bit of sunbathing on the front nets and enjoy a few cold drinks with some fresh fruits and snacks which were provided with the catamaran booking.  One thing we all appreciated was that they had free WiFi onboard, plus a sound system with a Spotify account, and so we could blast any tunes we wanted, and without disturbing anyone.

What set this charter apart was the option to bring extra food and drinks on board, and even a chance to have fun with some water activities like swimming, paddleboarding, and snorkeling.

All in all, a Barcelona catamaran charter was an amazing way to spend the afternoon floating in the Mediterranean ocean with a beautiful view of the Barcelona coastline. This charter was a solid choice.

Beach Front Picnic:

As we’re a mixed group of guys and girls, and we all need to eat at some point in the day, we decided on the beach front picnic. I’ve had a picnic before, but this one took the biscuit. It was amazing. The presentation was next level. I mean, the girls who set it up went all out. It reminded me of something from the mad hatter’s tea party. It was Instagram worthy. Saying that, a few of the team did post a few pics that day.

We had a gorgeous beach and ocean view. We basically had a view of where we were sitting just the day before on the catamaran. Again, we had pure blue skies that day with just enough of a sea breeze to keep us cool. We had selections of cheeses, cold meats, fruits, breads, spreads, I could go on. I was told all the food they provided for the Barcelona beach front picnic was fresh and locally sourced, which I think is a nice touch. The flavors didn’t disappoint. The Alcohol was plenty! All the colors of wines, some beers and events colas and waters. Most importantly, they’re all kept nice and chilled.

The picnic lasted about 1.45 – 2 hours. After that we hit the beach for a swim, which was just across the little road. I’d also recommend the beach bar we went to afterwards on Marbella beach. It was a relatively busy beach, and they were playing some loud and lively music.

Barcelona Segway Tour:

We couldn’t go to Barcelona and not check out the sights. Some of us had seen some of the city before and others hadn’t, and so we decided to do a tour. We couldn’t be bothered walking or getting on and off buses. And so, the option that used the least energy, and was the most fun, was to do a Barcelona Segway Tour.

The tour was fantastic, and the guide was very knowledgeable. The segway tour lasted 90 minutes which seemed to fly in. For me the best part was the constant cool breeze on my face while zipping in and out of other tourists and effortlessly getting from A to B.

We started at the beach front. We went the whole way up the beach front to the Port Olympic. And from there we went into the city center. Our route took us through Parc Ciutadella, then up to Arc de Triumph. Over to Plaza Catalunya and then down though Gotic, and popping out onto Las Ramblas the odd time.

I don’t think I’ll ever do a walking tour again. I’ll 100% be doing a segway tour during my next touristy city break.

Roof Top Bar Crawl Barcelona:

Last but not least! I leave this to last just because it’s a perfect way to finish of a night and so why not a perfect way to finish of my Barcelona blog post.

Personally, if you haven’t been to a particular city before, I think a bar crawl is the best way to experience what it has to offer in the evenings. In this case it was a Barcelona Roof top bar crawl.

Without the BCN Events & Crawls team, we would’ve had no idea where to go to get the best from Barcelona at night. A few of the BCN team members met up with us that night including the owner, and these guys were able to show us some of the best spots in the city. We went to a few stunning Barcelona roof top bars between Gotic area and El Born. As well as roof tops we went to a few quirky cocktail bars and chilled on a beautiful terrace for an hour or so.

One of the rooftops we really enjoyed was located just on the front of Port Vell and is called 1881 Sagardi. It’s very spacious and has a great view of the port and the hills surrounding the city. From that roof top you could even see the tops of Sagrada Familia towering over the city.

Then of course, to top of the night, we hit up one of the bigger nightclubs the city has to offer, which was free. Luckily for us, because we were with the BCN team, some of us even ended up in 2 or 3 different nightclubs that night.

Some final words:

A great thanks to BCN Events & Crawls for looking after our team during our time in Barcelona. It was a special weekend to say the least. Plenty of memories were made over the space of just 3 nights. From, Catamarans to picnics, roof tops, tours and more which I didn’t and wasn’t allowed to mention. I feel like we got a nice roundabout feel for Barcelona with these activities. This team knows how to look after a group and more importantly they know how to pull it off with some style. Everything was of a high quality and great value.

We’ve realized that Barcelona has so much more to offer whether you’re a family, hen do, Barcelona stag do or like us a corporate group. We look forward to our return.
